WE WENT TO EUROPE // AUSTRIA PART I

What a better way to start out the new year, then to share the adventures that completed the previous one?  I was lucky enough to have spent the last part of 2013 traveling through Europe with two of my favorite people.   It was a long awaited trip for me, as I spent my college years in Liverpool England, with short stints visiting my sister in Austria, and hadn't been back in years.

The trip was everything you would expect from spending the holidays in 3 different countries. There were many sleepy travels, frozen fingers and warm cups of mulled wine.  City streets dressed up with bright lights,  freshly laid snow on treetops and echoing banter through the stalls of christkindle markets.   Each city truly was a spectacle during the holidays and has inspired me to want to experience christmas in as many different countries as possible.

Our first stop on the trip was Innsbruck, Austria. We took a direct flight from LAX to Munich, Germany and begin our adventure.

My sisters home.  Tucked away in a surrounding village of Innsbruck, Austria, called Inzing. It has the perfect mix of classic Austria and modern day bungalow. With wooden built-in's at every turn and the smell of freshly burning wood to keep us warm, it certainly felt like you were on holiday.   My sister being a chef, greeted us each morning with a full a breakfast along with homemade latte's and freshly baked breads from the bakery where she works. The first evening we arrived Nicole made us a homemade  Beirsuppe , which is a beer based soup with chunks of Pretzel Bread, Caramelized Onions and Fresh Farm Cheese .  For Dessert she made Spiced Ginger Creme Brûlée.. did I mention this was all homemade.  You can see them below.

Keep a look out for the rest of the trip.  <3
