TWENTY-FIFTEEN PART ONE // HE WILL COME TO US LIKE THE RAIN

WASH AWAY THE OLD / UNLEASH THE NEW // THE ETERNAL CHILD

As I stand on the ledge of tomorrow,  looking onto the new year...

I day dream of what is to come; what beautiful colors will be painted before me, what oceans will be crossed to new horizons and what obstacles will be presented to strengthen my soul.  As the years seem to pile and my scars seem to fade, I begin to feel the confidence of age.  I no longer fear the new, but embrace it.  Take it in with deep breaths and begin to smell the sweet scent of a, once again, new world -- washed clean of all of its sin and sweat, with the aroma of adventure steaming from the pavement before me.

I love how the earth knows when and how to clean its palette.  It senses the changing of tides and the restlessness of the children laid sleepless in their beds.  It comes in waves, in walls of rain... in windy gusts that break apart the old and help plant the new.  It comes even if we don't feel we need it and quenches the thirst of our minds... our hearts... even our spirits.  It gives us the strength to begin fresh.  To start a new year once again.

I find this year different then others.  New chapters are beginning and ending for me.  I feel it not only piled high in my email, but painted across my mind.  I repeat to myself that I have clarity and that I am strong, but that doesn't mean that these overwhelming tides do not already challenge my balance.  This time however I will not sink, but swim.

So, as you lean back, all sleepy in the blue light, watching as the rain dances across your fingertips, take it in; let it soak through and dream.  Before you stands a new world, freshly watered and filled with oceans of unknown opportunity.
