Eternal Child X Parks Project- A Trip to Zion: Part One

We packed up the car and headed back out on the road a few weeks back on an assignment for Parks Project. You know I love any excuse to jump into the wild and experience the fabulous National Parks System. I can’t tell you how long I have wanted to see the canyons of Zion National Park and so I quickly jumped on the opportunity to make the drive to Utah.

I’m pretty sure one of my happiest places is behind the wheel - on the open road and driving through unknown territory. There is a sort of freedom in it that energizes my soul. The drive from Los Angeles to Utah is a pretty great one too. It takes you through the Mojave desert into Las Vegas, clips the corner of Arizona - an absolutely beautiful 20 minute drive along the Virgin River Canyon and before you know it — you find yourself in Utah.

Now let’s talk about Parks Project — You may know I have a mad love for companies that give back. I constantly seek them out and find any excuse to shoot for them or purchase all of their goods. Why would anyone NOT ?! I mean — it’s the gift that keeps giving — it’s making a difference in this world, that honestly these days, REALLY needs it. Especially when it comes to this amazing planet that we get the honor to call home.

Parks Project believes it’s their responsibility to promote, protect, and preserve public lands. Each of their collections is made with purpose and helps fund a project in our parks.

I honestly can’t think of a more important thing to give back to and I couldn’t be more honored and excited to shoot for a very worthy company. Working with the parks system is not as simple as handing over a check — this company believes in getting their hands dirty. They have already contributed hundreds of volunteer hours in our parklands and have influenced how thousands of people look at their relationship with the outdoors. And this is just the beginning — They have a ten-year goal of funding 100 projects and generating 100,000 volunteer hours while reinvigorating passion for our parks. You can read more about their ongoing projects and get involved in your region - it’s as simple as that. I know I will definitely be volunteering next year and I cannot wait.

The story below is Part One of a winter road trip to the desert. I invited my friends Arie and Bryan along for the trip and the three of us layered up and sported our Parks Project gear for 4 days. We stayed at Under Canvas - a fabulous glamping experience that was full of life and people that were SO KIND. We not only loved the grounds of this beautiful 60 tent village — but everyone we met, both staff and visitor were so very inviting and friendly. It truly felt like a community that I never wanted to leave. But more on Under Canvas in part two — let us get on with the trip.
