An Ode to Summer
As the fall winds begin to creep in and the dreams of summer sun begin to lift, we soon transition into the final phase of the year. No longer do we spend weekends toasting in our floral maxi's, drinking lemonade and passing time, sprawled out on a beach blanket. It's time to say goodbye to the smells of summer.. the suntan lotion-ed skin.. the smokey barbecue filled backyards. It's time to pull out our army jackets and gear up for what is always foreseen as the worst winter yet.
Living in Southern California, one may say our lives are one big endless summer.. but, even these children of the sun feel the transitioning of times. So here is my final ode to summer.. to the long days of exploration... the sandy kiss of the ocean and the nights spent watching the sea swallow up the sun.
