Our Second morning came with clear skys. The air was crisp and cold, but the warmth of the campground was invigorating as the chimney tops puffed away at Under Canvas. Our kettle was boiling before the sun breached the canyon top and we spent the better part of the morning enjoying the slowness in the canvas filled village.
We packed up the car and headed back out on the road, a few weeks back, on an assignment for Parks Project. You know I love any excuse to jump into the wild and experience the fabulous National Parks System. I can’t tell you how long I have wanted to see the canyons of Zion National Park and so I quickly jumped on the opportunity to make the drive to Utah.

I have visited the desert the most out of any other terrain. There is something about the deafening silence that just keeps calling. The steadiness, the warmth of the sand that turns so cold at night. The lone standing cacti — all perfectly placed across the landscape, as if it were intentional. I guess, you could argue it is.
